£750,000 INVESTMENT IN LUXURY GLAMPING RESORT

Rising demand for short breaks has prompted Salop Leisure to invest £750,000 in expanding the award-winning Love2Stay glamping and touring resort near Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The investment will fund five new luxury holiday lodges at the popular Love2Stay glamping village, enhancing the resort’s existing accommodation options.

According to Salop Leisure’s joint managing director, Mark Bebb, the 25 to 35 age group is increasingly opting for up to five short breaks per year, driven by a desire for convenience, flexibility, and luxury. “We’re attracting visitors from across the UK and beyond, particularly from Holland,” said Mr. Bebb.

“Guests love our natural cold water bio swimming pool, hot springs, and the chance to reconnect as a family away from technology.” The resort’s appeal extends to multi-generational holidays, with grandparents often staying on the touring park while their children and grandchildren enjoy lodge accommodation.

Families value the opportunity to spend quality time together surrounded by nature. Set within 22 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, Love2Stay offers panoramic views of the Shropshire Hills and Wales. Guests enjoy access to a bio swimming pool, splash pool and beach, a cinema, wellness services, and diverse outdoor activities.

ITV ZOOMS IN ON DORSET PARK

A Poole holiday park received an airing on national TV this spring when they were put under the spotlight by ITV’s Good Morning Britain. South Lytchett Manor hosted a visit from the show’s presenter Matt Johnson who wanted to find out how Brits were planning to spend their holidays this year.

Matt introduced viewers to the park’s Megan Bridgen whose parents, Joanne and David Bridgen, took over the five-star glamping and camping park 18 years ago. Megan and her brother Matt now help to manage the business, and the family has recently been celebrating a raft of major awards. They have included being named as one of the region’s top three parks in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards, and a Diamond accolade in the latest Loo of the Year Awards.

Keen camper Matt said that camping was still a popular way of enjoying a stay at South Lytchett Manor, but that glamping was quickly gaining ground among families and couples. The park’s popular Romany caravans were shown to the Good Morning audience by Matt who was accompanied by his dog Alan Shearer who clearly enjoyed his visit.

South Lytchett also provides shepherd’s huts and glamping pods which have recently been joined by eight luxury Mongolian yurts with decor and furnishings on an opulent North African theme. The dome-shaped yurts have been hand-built in neighbouring Devon using sustainable ash hardwood, and feature Moroccan-themed lanterns, mosaic tiles, and ornamental mirrors.

The seating area is arranged around a cosy fireplace, and there is a central skylight which allows guests to enjoy stunning views of Dorset’s star-studded night sky. Matt was also taken by Megan on a tour of the park’s landscaped grounds, and spoke with guests who praised the park’s high quality, beautiful location, and welcoming atmosphere.

“It was fantastic to receive this visit from Good Morning Britain at the start of the holiday season and straight after our recent award wins,” said Megan. “Fresh air holidays such as we offer grew in popularity during the lockdown years, and guests clearly enjoyed the experience as booking remain strong.

PARK HOLIDAYS UK takes its portfolio to 54 locations with the acquisition of Park Leisure.

 

Park Holidays UK has confirmed its acquisition of holiday parks group Park Leisure which owns 11 holiday parks in popular locations in England, Scotland and North Wales. It will bring to 54 the number of parks now operated by Park Holidays UK – and follows the company’s acquisition of nine parks from Bridge Leisure in 2021. The enlarged portfolio, says the group, will provide it with an even stronger national platform from which to serve Britain’s fast-growing domestic holiday market.

Park Holidays UK director Tony Clish said the coming together of the two well-established groups presented exciting new opportunities in one of tourism’s most dynamic sectors: “Both companies have invested substantially in their parks over recent years and created a range of high-quality holiday products which people clearly enjoy,” he said. “Park Leisure’s 11 parks have all gained top five-star tourist board awards and represent the high-quality standards we have been working towards in recent years.
