PRACTICAL LODGE DESIGN SHAPING HOLIDAY PARKS

Posted on May 6, 2026

HOW BS3632 is raising standards in holiday park accommodation.

BS3632 construction standards, utility spaces and pet friendly interiors are leading the way for holiday park owners that want accommodation that is easy to maintain and performs year on year. According to luxury lodge manufacturer Pinelog, demand for lodges built to the BS 3632 residential standard is continuing to grow, particularly as park operators place greater emphasis on long-term performance, durability and guest experience.

“BS 3632 continues to be the gold standard when it comes to lodges; that’s now in addition to design features such as covered external areas and dedicated boot or utility rooms,” said Judy Barwell, Sales Account Manager at Pinelog. “These details help protect interiors, reduce turn-around times, and support longer seasonal use for park operators.”

BS 3632 sets high standards for safety, structural strength and year-round comfort. Lodges built to the specification also deliver strong energy efficiency through high levels of insulation and quality materials, helping reduce running costs. Interior layouts are also evolving with utility rooms becoming a frequent addition to bespoke design.

Utility or boot rooms accessed directly from outside provide a practical transition space for wet clothing, boots and pets, helping keep living areas cleaner and improving turnaround efficiency between guests. Pinelog’s bespoke approach means that any lodge design can be tailored to incorporate these features.

“With 40 years’ experience in the holiday park sector, Pinelog knows that a focus on build quality and practical design also supports long-term value for park owners, with lodges that maintain their appeal over time, continue to perform well throughout their lifecycle, and hold their resale value too,” added Judy.
