CUSTOMERS SPIN AND WIN COMPETITION

CUSTOMERS SPIN AND WIN COMPETITION

TREVOR AND HELGA REDVERS-HIGGINS were the first £5,000 winners in a Leisuredays marketing promotion.

Two lucky Hoburne Holiday lodge owners hit the jackpot when they won a £5000 cash prize from insurance specialists Leisuredays. The insurance provider runs a “Spin to Win” promotion for static caravan and lodge owners who obtain a quote via the holiday parks it works with. Spin to Win gives those customers two chances to win with a no obligation insurance quote.

Firstly, a spin of an online wheel of fortune to instantly win a £10 Amazon voucher and secondly, automatic entry into an annual £5000 draw. Trevor and Helga Redvers-Higgins were the first £5000 winners. They’d got a quote from Leisuredays having bought a Carnaby Chantry lodge from Hoburne Bashley Holiday Park in the New Forest, earlier this year.

Helga said: “We’re over the moon. We’d just got the keys for our new lodge the day before Leisuredays called us to let us know we’d won the £5000 so it felt unbelievable. When asked how they’d be spending the money, Helga added “We’ll be treating the family as well as buying outdoor furniture and a new television for our lodge.”

Gareth Walker from Leisuredays added: “The Spin to Win promotion gives park customers an extra incentive to try us for an insurance quote. Once we quote a park customer, more often than not they’ll become a policyholder, meaning extra insurance commission for our parks.” Leisuredays will be announcing another £5000 winner in March 2024. Parks that want to take advantage of the Spin to Win promotion and need extra point of sale materials can get in touch.

The improvements will include new-look entertainment leisure complexes, and new holiday accommodation at three parks, free Wi-Fi across all of its seven parks, and will ensure an improved customer experience for all visitors from March; when the parks open for the 2016 holiday season.

The largest investment is at Hoburne Naish in Dorset, Hoburne Bashley in Hampshire, and Hoburne Cotswold in Gloucestershire, where each of these three parks will have £1million spent on creating a new-look entertainment and leisure complex, complete with new interior décor and contemporary furniture and fittings.

Managing director of Hoburne, Rod Tucker, commented: “The huge investment that we are currently making is testament to our commitment to setting new standards across the industry and to our goal of exceeding our customer’s expectations."

Peak Season Booking Boom

Peak Season Booking Boom

Boom

Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks in Devon enjoyed bumper peak season bookings for 2015.

Despite a wet August, the UK’s holiday park sector enjoyed a bumper peak season of bookings this year. The summer was both cooler and wetter than the two previous summers, with temperatures below average and heavy rain at times. But it seems the weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the country’s holidaymakers. In September, Hoburne Holiday Parks revealed a 16 per cent increase in the value of bookings compared to the same period last year, meanwhile Hoseasons celebrated its fifth record summer in a row. Hoseasons managing director, Simon Altham commented: “I don’t think anyone would seriously claim it was a good summer when it came to the weather, but that clearly didn’t affect bookings. “People are more interested in the quality of the accommodation, what’s on offer nearby and having time to catch up with those that matter most to them, rather than the weather. They increasingly want experience-led breaks rather than weather-led ones, so while it’s always nice if the sun is shining, it certainly doesn’t matter if it isn’t.” In Devon, Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks saw bookings increase by six per cent compared to 2014 during the summer season. The company had a 99.3 per cent occupancy level throughout the school holiday period, with many holidays booked at short notice. Forward bookings for 2016 are currently running at 19 per cent up on the same time last year. Sales and marketing director, Kevin Darvill said: “2015 has been a superb year for Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks. We enjoyed record sales and excellent customer satisfaction levels and we look forward to another bumper year in 2016,” he added.
