SMART MOVE FOR WELSH PARK

SMART MOVE FOR WELSH PARK

THREE CLIFFS’ TWO CAPELLE 2HCX and Capella 2HCX Lifted comfortably deliver up to 80 miles with their 210AH batteries.

When Three Cliffs Bay needed new utility vehicles to maintain the five-star standard at its holiday park in Gower, Wales, it chose STAR EV. In the move it upgraded to lithium power from petrol and that is always a smart move. From full charge to discharge, STAR smart lithium batteries deliver higher peak power for improved performance all round.

It delivers full power for longer drive distance with no sacrifice in power. Maintenance-free STAR Smart Lithium batteries take a charge, hold a charge, and recharge over 2,000 times. With an extremely low self-discharge rate, the batteries provide maintenance free peace of mind, while Android and iPhone Smart Lithium app monitors battery usage, voltage and temperature, so STAR smart batteries are ready to go when the day’s work starts.

There need be no anxiety when it comes to range. Three Cliffs opted for two Capella 2HCX vehicles, which comfortably deliver up to 80 miles with their 210AH battery and a Capella 2HCX Lifted which offers similar features but with great off road capability and higher ground clearance.

Tom Beynon, owner of Three Cliffs Bay, confirms the point: “These machines have proved to us very quickly that they can take on all the tasks we need them to without any difference in productivity to their petrol counterparts and without disturbance. “We use them for rubbish collection and recycling. The big, strong cargo area at the back of the Lifted and the fact that we can add a trailer means it’s become part of our gardening arsenal too.”

HUSH QUIET WORK MACHINES

HUSH QUIET WORK MACHINES

THE THREE CLIFFS BAY has invested in three battery-powered utility vehicles.

When machinery and guests co-exist, the best thing a utility vehicle can bring to a holiday park is to be seen but not heard. With many visitors residing under canvas, it’s essential that the operation of the site is quiet, clean and unobtrusive at the five-star Three Cliffs Bay, in Gower, Wales offers luxury glamping, camping and touring pitches. Previously the machines, tasked with site maintenance, were petrol.

When the time came to update the site’s maintenance fleet, owner Tom Beynon chose three battery-powered utility vehicles. He opted for the STAR EV offering of two Capella HCX; market-leading when it comes to towing capacity and the amount of payload they can handle. Tom also specified the Capella Lifted, which is ideal for off-road load carrying situations.

The Capellas were put to work transporting guests and their luggage around the site, as well as rubbish collecting and recycling, with the Lifted being used for gardening jobs. The machines quickly proved they could take on all the tasks required without any difference in productivity to their petrol counterparts and without disturbance. Tom’s been so impressed with the Capella Work Machines that he has plans to expand their job requirements by hiring them out to guests for the duration of their stay.

Wales in Bloom Award

Gardening team, Dave and Christine Ball are hanging up their hoes after 20 years of dedicated service to the Tree Tops Caravan Park in North Wales

Tree Tops Caravan Park in North Wales, which this summer scooped a top spot in the Wales in Bloom awards, is bidding a sad farewell to its two top gardening experts.

Dave and Christine Ball have been head gardeners at the park for over two decades, securing a Wales in Bloom accolade for the business every summer for 21 years.

Tree Tops’ number one prize in the holiday park category of the 2013 awards, announced 16 August, means that the green-fingered couple will be bowing out in style.

Throughout their time at the park, the couple is estimated to have put over halfa- million bedding plants into the soil on the 15-acre park near Holywell.

In addition to the annual highlypraised floral setting they create, Steve and Christine also help maintain the family-run park’s thousands of trees, shrubs and perennials.

Now they have decided to hang up their hoes for a restful retirement at their home at Weaverham in Cheshire - but will still be regular visitors to their holiday caravan at Tree Tops.
