Golfers have helped raise more than £3,000 for a children’s charity providing free holidays for youngsters with life-threatening illnesses. The fundraising golf day at Carus Green Golf Club, Kendal, sponsored by Kendal Caravans, generated £3,175 for Donna’s Dream House in Blackpool, which offers respite breaks for children, teenagers and their families.

The event was organised by long-standing Kendal Caravans customers Chris and Sarah Taylor, with support from Vanda and Andrew Richardson of AR Golf Events. A top prize of a Swift Sprite touring caravan was on offer for anyone scoring a hole-in-one, but despite several close attempts, it remained unclaimed.

Players also had the chance to view a Swift Carrera 184 campervan, which attracted plenty of interest. Kendal Caravans Managing Director Mark Molyneaux thanked everyone who helped make the day a success, including the 40-plus golfers who took part, the many businesses from Cumbria and Blackpool that supported the event, and the company’s Blackpool Dealer Principal Phil Tabiner, who co-ordinated activities.

Family-owned Kendal Caravans, based in Selside near Kendal with a branch in Blackpool, is one of Northern England’s largest holiday home distributors. Mark is also a keen charity fundraiser, regularly taking part in sponsored long-distance cycling events in Cumbria and overseas.
