An array of activities and an outstanding community spirit, The Elms Retirement Park in Lincolnshire is a perfect advertisement for park home living. Residents enjoy a quality of life that many other park operators could sit up and take note of. Those wanting to travel further afi eld can use the resident-run minibus service; the timetable is published in the Park’s newsletter, the Elms Advertiser. They benefit from visiting butchers, bakers and fishmongers, as well as a mobile library and numerous clubs and associations run by the residents themselves. The village of Torksey, not much larger than the Park itself, is a short walk away and features a Medical Centre built by the Park operators themselves, The John Kinch Group. ACTIVE ROLE The Kinch family take an active role in ensuring the highest quality at the park from continual reinvestment and practical improvements to organising events for residents such as nature walks, craft workshops and concerts. “Not only do we take pride in creating an unrivaled community at The Elms, we also work to support local communities as well,” says Tracey.

“This year we raised a huge £1128 for the great MacMillan cause by opening up our offices for a coffee morning and we also support local schools with donations.” The family also take an interest in promoting the concept of residential park living further afield. The Elms website and social media pages overflow with video content, blogs about home refurbishment and more, as well as new, resident profiles. “We have recently launched resident profiles on our Facebook page,” explains Tracey. “It occurred to us that people may wonder ‘Who lives in a house like this?’ so we are talking to residents about their lives and what led them to move to The Elms.
